When purchasing a YubiKey, you should adopt a one master key and one secondary key solution . When setting up two-step login for an account, set up authentication for both the primary key and the secondary key. In case the primary key is lost or stolen, you can also use the secondary key to log into your account as a backup. The duplicate key should also be kept in a safe place.
